Islanders are being asked to "keep a respectful distance" while work is underway to clear Chouet Beach after a dead whale washed ashore.
Guernsey's animal welfare charity, the GSPCA, confirmed the situation is being dealt with by the States' Environment Department.
The charity said while the distressing scene "may draw public interest", we're being asked to keep away while authorities respond to the situation:
