The Committee for Education, Sport, and Culture have released a draft policy letter relating to the future school plans.
The Committee believe the future two school model will save the island around three million pounds a year with those savings reinvested in to the quality and range of education in the Bailiwick.
They say the move to two colleges as opposed to four schools will mean fewer duplicated resources making further savings.
If you factor in the expected 50-year lifespan of a modern school building, the committee believe this will amount to a saving of 100 million pounds in revenue terms over its life.
The President of ESC, Deputy Matt Fallaize, says his committee hope the savings will equate to more opportunity and enrichment activities for all students on the island.
Enrichment activities include things such as additional academic classes, sports and arts activities, outdoor education, and community service.
The policy letter is expected to be debated in the States in September.
