The GSPCA team spent Sunday lunchtime rallying a herd of Guernsey cows.
More than a dozen Guernsey cows escaped their field on Sunday afternoon (14 April) and managed to make their way onto the GSPCA's property.
They had escaped their field through damaged fencing and wandered through some vegetation.
Their owner was quickly contacted to retrieve them.
Manager Steve Byrne says, although his team were entertained by the unexpected visit, stray farm animals can cause problems.
"When these animals are on the roads they can pose a real danger to themselves, vehicles and pedestrians.
They can also cause potential damage when they get into gardens and areas where they wouldn't normally be.
We have to deal with stray farm animals on a regular basis, around the island, for various reasons.
The owners are always very concerned when they manage to get out, and are always so happy to get them back.
I am sure that this farmer is delighted to have his cows back."
