Police called to domestic incident in the island during the early hours of the morning.
On Wednesday 19 February 2019 Chief Inspector Andrew Hockey said:
“A 56-year old male in Alderney has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after police were called to a domestic incident in the island during the early hours of this morning.
“A 55-year old female was treated in Le Mignot hospital overnight and has been transferred to Guernsey for further medical treatment. She is in a stable condition.
“We have deployed additional police resources to Alderney in order to carry out our investigation, and the public will see a higher police presence than usual. This is purely to allow us to do our necessary work, and we want to reassure the public we are not looking for any further suspects, nor is there any wider risk to the community.”
