On the day we enter Phase 5C of our exit from lockdown another positive COVID-19 case is discovered.
A further new case of COVID-19 has been found bringing the current total in the Bailiwick up to nine.
The person was identified as a contact of the recent index case and was already in self-isolation.
Public Health says this shows again that contact tracing & isolation works well and continues to keep the community safe.
So far Guernsey has tested 19,220 samples, of which 267 have been positive results and 18,880 have been negative. 73 people are currently awaiting results.
252 of the positive cases were from the first wave.
The Bailiwick of Guernsey moves into phase 5c, the next phase of its Exit from Lockdown Framework, today (Wednesday 28th October 2020).
One of the key changes for the new phase is the introduction of testing on arrival at the airport and harbour, for the vast majority of arrivals into the Bailiwick. In order to make the testing on arrival process as effective and efficient as possible, the Travel Tracker - a new web portal - has been developed.
The Travel Tracker asks anyone travelling to the Bailiwick to provide information, such as their travel history, before their journey. The Travel Tracker can be filled out two calendar days or less before the journey. It is available here https://covid19.gov.gg/guidance/travel.
