The States of Guernsey says work is ongoing with the UK to try and resolve possible issues with going into public venues in France from Sunday 1 August.
It's after the country passed a law requiring special passes when going into the likes of restaurants, bars, and shopping centres from 1 August.
That pass, called the 'pass sanitaire' proves a person's Covid-19 status and is also needed to go on certain forms of transport, such as trains.
It requires people to show a QR code, but Guernsey-issued vaccine certificates do not currently include a QR code.
The passes have already been needed for entry to museums, cinemas, and cultural venues with a capacity of more than 50 people in France since 21 July.
The States is warning people travelling to France 'that there could be impacts for some weeks to come.'
"If individuals face any difficulties in accessing venues or services while travelling in France, the 'pass sanitaire' can also be acquired by showing a negative PCR or antigen test from within the last 48 hours.
"Any islanders travelling should check the requirements for the locations they are visiting prior to travel and be sure to keep up to date with any changes that might be implemented while they are away from the Bailiwick."
