Last month was the eighth warmest September on record in Guernsey.
The average temperature across the month was 17.2 degrees - 1.5 degrees higher than the long-term average of 15.7 C.
Dave Rigby from Jersey Met says after many months of very warm and dry weather, we can expect a change.
"The first week of October we were well above the average (temperature) for the month, but this wind is charging to the north and bringing down the colder air.
"We've seen the temperature fall quite markedly.
"We're expecting highs (on Thursday) of around 16. We may pick up by a degree or two over the weekend, but we'll not seen the high 20s again.
"We may get close to a 20 (early next week) but through the weekend, we'll definitely see temperatures in the teens."
