118 people in Jersey who were employed at no cost in a government campaign have stayed in work.
Jersey businesses were allowed to hire anyone last October and November for free if they were unemployed before May 2021, because many companies have been struggling with staff shortages.
The government paid the wages and Social Security contributions for up to six months.
More than 180 employers took part, with 72% of people who took a subsidised job staying in employment.
“This campaign was all about getting unemployed islanders back into work as quickly as possible. The number of local businesses who got on board was excellent and I’m delighted to see this campaign do so well.
