A Jersey Airport air traffic controller is going to take on a 19-day trek to Everest's base camp in aid of charity.
Marc Hill, Aviation Safety Manger and Air Traffic Controller, is flying out next Friday to tackle the immense trek ahead of him so he can give back to the community.
The avid walker has decided to raise money for Helping Wings, which he volunteers for when they hold events, and Every Child Our Future.
Hill says he has been trying to walk as much as possible in preparation, this ranges from steep hills to climbing the 180 foot air traffic control tower every day, four times a day.
"I'm just looking forward to the amazing scenery, we're going to a place called Kala Patthar where you can watch the sunrise over Everest, and I'm looking forward to the experience."
Helping Wings is a charity close to Marc Hill's heart as he believes it can provide life changing experiences, and give young islanders opportunities to fulfill their passions.
The aviation safety manager has already completed an expedition to Annapurna base camp, and has recently finished the 12 Parish boundary walks.
