A light aircraft has ditched off the southeast coast of the island just after 2pm
A rescue effort was started after the pilot radioed Air Traffic Control to say they were ditching the plane into the sea.
All three of Jersey's RNLI lifeboats were deployed along with Ports of Jersey's pilot boat 'Rival'.
Channel Islands Air Search and a French rescue helicopter also assisted during the search.
The pilot and one passenger were found in the sea.
They are being taken back to St Helier 'safe and well'
