Motorists are being told to expect disruption during roadworks on Green Street and Mount Bingham this month.
The resurfacing work will start on Green Street on Monday (8 January).
Islanders cannot use the road on weekdays from 7:30am until 8pm.
There will be a staggered start to work so both roads are not closed simultaneously, making it slightly less disruptive for commuters.
Sections of Mount Bingham will start to be resurfaced later in the month (31 January).
The direction of traffic on South Hill will be reversed between 6am and 10am each morning so it is easier for cars to access Pier Road car park.
The work is planned to finish on 8 February.
Diversions will also be put in place to remind people of the works. Islanders are advised to plan for disruptions in their journeys.
