Jersey Coastguard warns islanders not to go near a navigational buoy that has drifted into the island's waters.
An islander spotted the buoy near Portlet Commot earlier today (12 September 2025) and reported it to the Coastguard.
A pilot vessel was sent to investigate the situation, with support from a land-based team to confirm its location.
The Coastguard's Marine Operations Team is monitoring the situation and will assess it further when the tidal conditions become calm.
Islanders are warned that the buoy is near a tidal cutoff point, and people should not approach it.
