A government-funded fan zone at Liberty Wharf will screen the semi-finals of the Women's World Cup.
The zone will have four 55-inch LED screens and seating for up to 200 people, costing less than £10,000
Businesses in the square will be opening up their al fresco areas during the match, which is due to kick off at 11am.
The government says if it is successful the big screen will be used for other future 'cultural and sporting' events.
Sports Minister Deputy Lucy Stephenson says it's an occasion to celebrate and enjoy:
"The promotion of women’s sport in Jersey is something I am extremely passionate about and I really hope this is something that people of all ages and demographics are keen to engage with.
I hope the Fan Zone will be a great hub for Islanders and tourists to come together as a community to watch exciting national and international events, as well as providing benefits to businesses in the area."
Deputy Stephenson says that they will measure the success based on attendees and logistics.
The zone will open again on Sunday morning (20 August) if England gets through to the finals.
