Fans Back As Reds Return Home

Up to 1,000 Jersey Reds fans can watch their team at the Stade Santander International today for the first time in 14 months.

The government has given the green light for spectators to return to the ground in St Peter to watch their team play in-person.

Jersey Reds haven't played at home since 29 February 2020 - a 38-3 defeat to Newcastle Falcons.

All five Reds matches so far this season have been played away from home, with four of those ending in defeat.

Of those four defeats, three have been against the teams at the top of the Championship table.

Nottingham are the visitors. They sit at the bottom of the division without a victory yet this season.

Club Chairman Mark Morgan says having the fans back will be quite an experience for the away team.

"With them coming into the island, they will not be mixing with anybody in our public so they're going to find that tough and it is really quite a hard day.

"On top of that, with the Jersey Reds fans banging the boards, there is going to be quite a lot of pressure on them.

"The (Jersey Reds) boys are really excited, not only to be playing at home, but to be actually playing in front of a good partisan Jersey crowd."

Six changes have been made to the Jersey Reds line-up from last week's defeat to Ealing Trailfinders, which includes a recall for Max Argyle.
