Islanders who haven't got a first coronavirus vaccine dose can get it at Fort Regent next week without having to pre-book an appointment.
However, walk-ins will only be allowed at certain times.
People can turn up:
- Between 5pm and 6pm from Monday 26 July to Friday 30 July
- Between 8:30am and 3:30pm on Saturday 31 July and Sunday 1 August.
Walk-in appointments will be given on a first-come, first-served basis because of limited vaccine supply. Islanders must bring their ID.
"I am pleased that we are able to offer Islanders walk-in appointments over the course of next week.
"Vaccine uptake, particularly among younger age groups, continues to grow but I understand that young people lead busy lives and cannot always commit to an allocated date and time, so I hope by making the extra effort to open the vaccine centre up in this way, it will make it easier for young Islanders to go and get their first dose.
"We have chosen these designated times so that Islanders can come straight after work during the week, or at the start of the day over the weekend." - Becky Sherrington, Head of the Vaccination Programme.
Those who can't make these times can still book online or via the coronavirus helpline.
As of Wednesday 14 July, 71% of islanders in their 30s and 59% of 20 to 29-year-olds had received their first dose.
