The Parish of St Helier took ownership of the Allix Shipyard gardens in January, and is restoring the wooden ship, laying new paths, and replacing lighting.
The £1 purchase was agreed by ratepayers earlier this year.

Overgrown planting has been removed, the old path has been lifted, and a new surface is now in place.
The ground lighting has also been repaired.
The park is closed as the new ground is 'cured' for 28 days to retain its original 'look and feel', during which time the Parish will continue with the restoration of the ship itself, making it safe and refreshed.
Weather permitting, the space will reopen at the end of April.
Phase two will then begin after the summer season, where the focus will be on restoring the park’s features including the mosaic, anchor, and storm gates.
