It’s looking like the Red Arrows won’t be taking part in the 2019 Jersey International Display.
It has been announced that the RAF Aerobatic Team will be on a major tour of the US and Canada next August and September.
The nine-week diplomatic tour will coincides with the Jersey Air Show, due to take place on 12th September.
Organiser Mike Higgins says he is monitoring the situation and that ‘contingency plans’ will be in place if the Red Arrows can’t make it for the second time in three years.
They missed the 2017 display because they were touring the Middle East.
Guernsey’s Air Display takes place on the same day as Jersey’s, and organisers there have confirmed the Red Arrows will not feature in the 2019 line-up.
But they have revealed that they have bid for the famous jets to display in Guernsey on or near the 6th June to mark the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings. A decision will be known early next year.
