A dog walker and their pet have been rescued from rocks after being cut off by the rising tide at La Rocque.
They had scrambled to higher ground around 200m from shore to escape being taken out to sea.
Jersey Coastguard were called on Friday evening (1 September) and dispatched the Jersey Fire & Rescue inshore rescue boat.
Because of the state of the tide, the vessel was launched from Seymour slip.
A kayaker, who had spotted the stranded person and their pet, stayed nearby until the rescue boat arrived on scene to pick them up before they were washed off the rocks.
They were taken ashore - cold, wet and shaken, but otherwise uninjured.
Rescuers say the 'quick actions' of the dog walker in getting as high as possible and calling for help 'undoubtedly saved their lives'.
The kayak has also been commended for their actions.
