Jersey got a welcome soaking overnight - though many islanders were kept awake by the thunderstorm.
Around 30 millimetres of rain fell between the hours of 1am and 8am this morning (25 August).
Following many weeks of dry weather - and two drought periods - around half the month's average rainfall came down in just a few hours.

A hosepipe ban comes into force here tomorrow.
Islanders will be prohibited from using a hose pipe at home to
- Water gardens or lawns
- Wash vehicles
- Fill ponds or pools
- Run a sprinkler or a pressure washer
- Clean windows, paths or other surfaces outdoors.
Jersey Met says there were more than 4,200 lightning strikes.
Islanders have been sharing their footage and photos on the Channel 103's Facebook page.
The volume of water has caused several landslides, including on La Grande Route De St Clement near to Les Rocquier school.
Motorists were advised to take extra care because of mud and standing water on the roads as drains were overwhelmed.
