Orange wind warnings have been issued for the Channel Islands with strong force 8 expected this lunchtime (2 Aug).
Gusts of up to 55mph are expected in the Channel, cancelling most sailing from the islands. Condor's newest vessel, the 'Islander' is currently sheltering off Jersey's east coast.

Orange warnings are the second highest of the weather warnings, with forecasters telling us to remain 'vigilant'.
Tide warnings were also issued for high tide, with motorists advised to be careful on coastal roads as water and debris could overspill Guernsey's west coast and Jersey's south coast.
