Channel Islanders will now be able to apply for a credit card from a local bank.
Butterfield will provide the service to both Guernsey and Jersey residents.
Many UK institutions have withdrawn the offer of cards because credit reference agencies can't access an island electoral roll.
Guernsey's Home Affairs Committee can supply those details if asked, and a new electronic electoral roll is being worked on for the 2025 election.
Meanwhile, Jersey's government passed a law last autumn to share more data with credit check firms in an effort to address the lack of card providers.
