DFDS Christmas timetable signed off... but still not published

DFDS' Christmas and New Year timetable still isn't published, despite Jersey's Economic Development Minister telling Channel 103 his department signed it off a couple of weeks ago.

Last year, the whole winter schedule, up until 11 January, was published in mid-August.

However, currently, people can still only book up until the end of December 2026.

Deputy Gerald Voisin told Channel 103:

"My understanding is that the problem is with St Malo, because they only have one ramp now. The other ramp has been taken out of operation because it's going to be renewed, but it's going to be out of operation for several years.

"They've got a number of ferry operators all wanting to use that ramp so they're going through the process that's called deconfliction, to make sure that the two ferries aren't wanting to get on the ramp at the same time.

"I understand that is what is holding the announcement of the timetable.

"As far as I'm concerned, our department has signed off on DFDS' proposed timetable.

"I don't know (when it will be published) because it's not in my remit. I understand the problem is with St Malo, and it may have an impact on Jersey, because you might end up with too many ships trying to get onto the berth in Jersey.

When asked when it was signed off, Deputy Voisin added:

"I think it was a couple of weeks ago."

The last update received from DFDS on this subject was in late-August, telling Channel 103 the timetable can be expected this month (September).
